My second motion at yesterday’s (11th Dec) MD meeting; “That the council clarify any role or function the council has in relation to Monasterevin Council Hall including but not limited to, and where relevant, the administration, funding, terms of funding, oversight or management of the hall.

A committee was setup in 2011 comprising of local volunteers to take on the day to day running of the community hall and to build a clientele for the facility. The Council has a caretaker’s agreement with the committee. The current committee has called an AGM for 8:30pm on the 12 December 2019 to see if new volunteers can be co-opted onto the committee. Monasterevin Community hall was awarded a community grant of €1200 in 2018 for the upgrade of kitchen facilities and boiler.
